Suzie and I spent most of the day packing up and getting ready for pulling up stakes tomorrow. It feels sort of weird. On one hand I'm ready to get going with this adventure. On the other hand, I've gotten used to being in Sarasota. It has been nice to have family and friends around. Yes, my mother makes me nuts, but that's what family does. I still love her like crazy, and I'm going to miss her. The craziness is familiar. The unfamiliar is a little scary, even if it is exciting!
We have to be out of the campsite before 1pm. At 1pm tomorrow, Sarasota is expecting it to rain cats and dogs. Of course it is. We are getting back on the road, and the luck continues!
Stay tuned for adventures to commence!

Where are you going? Come here. It's spring. No really. It's been 60 lately with great views of both the Cascades and the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteSigh, I know you won't get here until the busy season and that's too bad. If you get here later in the season come towards middle September to middle October. The weather is still great and the winds have died down. Pacific Beach state park is awesome that time of year...if you like a town with about 200 people. But the military recreational center has a diner that everyone can go to and the food, while not cuisine, is fine. I spent a school year out there and I love it. Ocean Shores is too commercial.
Really check out the state parks in both Oregon and Washington as they are all kinds of awesome. Oregon coast is much windier than the Washington Coast. Look for when the whales are moving from Alaska, down the coast and to Hawii. I don't know if there are any state parks along the Columbia River but if there are check them out. The Columbia River Gorge is really quite pretty. In the Yakima region there are tons of wineries and cheese places if you like that sort of thing but it's very dry out there so if you don't like that sort of environment you won't like it.
On the way over try out Glacier National Park. It's a must see but you might have to disconnect the trailer before making it up the hill. But the road is open mid-June to August because of the weather.
Well, I guess I've 'talked' your ear off. I hope that your travels are safe and exciting.
